Who can get help at URM?
Anyone who is hungry, homeless, or hurting is welcome at Union Rescue Mission Wichita. We serve men experiencing homelessness through our shelter and recovery programs, and we also support women, children, and families through our Community Outreach Ministry. No matter your background or circumstances, you will be welcomed with dignity and care.
Do I need an appointment?
No. You never need an appointment to receive help at URM. If you need emergency shelter, simply come to 2800 North Hillside between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM any day of the year and our team will welcome you. For other services, feel free to call us at (316) 687-4673 and we’ll help you figure out your next step.
What if I'm not sure which kind of help I need?
That’s okay — you don’t need to have it all figured out before you reach out. Our Shelter Advocate and Case Manager are here to listen, assess your situation, and connect you with the right resources. Does URM help women and families too?
Yes. While our shelter and residential programs are designed specifically for men experiencing homelessness, our Community Outreach Ministry serves women, children, and families across Wichita who are struggling with hunger and hardship. Each week, we distribute free food boxes and offer free legal services, every other week, through Christian Legal Aid. Every person who comes to us matters.
