Rooted In Faith Since 1950
URM started with a simple conviction: no man should face the streets alone. Since then, we’ve served Wichita every day as an evangelical Christian ministry, meeting immediate needs while pointing lives toward lasting change.
Over the decades, that conviction has never changed. A warm meal or a safe bed can change a night. A relationship rooted in Christ can change a life. That’s why we do more than just shelter men.
Our Mission
We exist to offer men experiencing crisis a way forward through gospel-centered care and life-changing faith. Our mission has never been about beds and meals alone. It’s about sharing the love of God through our words, our actions, and our service to those around us.
So we stay with each man through every step of his journey. We meet him where he is, and we help him move toward where God is calling him next.
What We Believe
Our work is grounded in one conviction: real transformation begins with the love of God. We believe change is possible for everyone, no matter how far they've fallen or how long they've struggled. That belief shapes everything we do, and it guides men through four stages of transformation.
Rescue
We meet men in crisis with safety, provision, and the first spark of hope. Everyone deserves a place to start over.
Restoration
We walk alongside men as they heal from addiction, trauma, and the deeper wounds behind homelessness.
Re-engagement
We help men experience genuine, lasting change — renewed purpose, spiritual growth, and a new heart in Christ.
Recovery
We prepare men to step back into family, community, and independent living with confidence and courage.
